The Wellness Trends on The Rise in 2025
Wellness, wellness, wellness… it’s everywhere, and our obsession with it is stronger than ever. In 2024, the wellness industry was worth around $6 trillion—and it’s only growing. Wellness has long since been just about sports although fitness and health club growth (think reformer Pilates!) has seen a 40% increase in 2024 and we expect the same going into 2025. I’ve always been passionate about wellness and simple, effective routines, but with the rapid advancements we’re seeing, it’s exciting to imagine where it’s headed next. As we step into 2025, the industry continues to evolve, driven by technology, the rise of biohacking and longevity (thanks Bryan Johnson!), and a shift toward hyper-personalized services that prioritize both mental resilience and physical performance. Here are four key wellness trends I see shaping the year ahead—and how you can incorporate them into your daily life.
1. Personalized Wellness, Fitness with AI and Biometrics
With AI leading the race in technology, it’s no surprise that AI-driven health apps and biometric wearables are revolutionizing personalized wellness. Companies like Whoop and Oura are providing real-time data on sleep, heart rate variability, and performance recovery to optimize individual well-being. Although this is not new but our desire to get more data to inform us on how we can improve in various areas of our life has been growing quickly. We’re finally waking up to the fact that we’re all bio-individual and unique, meaning there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to optimizing health. What works for one person might not work for another. Some people thrive on strength training and HIIT, while others benefit more from softer, restorative movement like yoga and Pilates to keep cortisol levels in check. The same goes for nutrition—different foods impact our glucose and insulin responses in unique ways. The good news? We now have access to real-time data through wearables to help us understand these differences.
In 2024, I personally tried the blood glucose wearable from Ultrahuman. Over two weeks of blood sugar monitoring, I learned a lot about how my body metabolizes carbs and sugar, and how I uniquely react to different foods. It was eye-opening, and I highly recommend it.
That said, my one piece of advice with wearables is this: don’t let them dictate how you feel. While data is incredibly valuable, we shouldn’t lose our connection to our own bodies. With more technology comes the risk of outsourcing intuition to algorithms, and that’s something to be mindful of. AI was everywhere in 2024, and now we’re seeing AI-powered wellness platforms like Viome analyze gut microbiome data to provide hyper-personalized nutrition plans. Gut health was a massive trend last year—let’s see if it continues into 2025.
Personalized wellness used to be about occasional blood tests and recommendations, but now, it’s shifting toward real-time data that provides continuous insights. This evolution is a positive one—especially if costs come down, making it more accessible for people to truly understand their own bodies in real time.
Ultrahuman Blood Glucose Monitor
Try it out:
Start using a wearable like an Oura Ring or Fitbit to track sleep and physical activity. I am looking at getting the OURA or Ultrahuman ring to see if it can help me track my cycles since they vary significantly.
Try out a blood glucose monitor to see how your body metabolizes sugar.
Use AI-powered health apps to set personalized wellness goals, even your Flo app is helpful when you have symptoms you don’t recognize.
2. Longevity Science and Biohacking
People are investing in strategies to extend their health span and although this topic has been followed by many researchers and doctors (Mark Hyman, Peter Attia) for a while now, we are seeing the more extreme stories being publicized and shared. Specifically because of tech moguls like Bryan Johnson that are pioneering biohacking lifestyles focused on extreme anti-aging techniques. However, this isn’t a fad just for rich tech moguls or athletes anymore as our attempt at hacking our biology becomes the norm. This is solidified with popular wellness clubs in NYC like Remedy Place offering biohacking in a social setting. This club is already opening its fourth location demonstrating the popularity and desire for people to upgrade their health routines with advanced therapies like LED light therapy, cryotherapy and integrate them into mainstream wellness protocols. Supplements like NMN and NAD+ are gaining popularity for cellular rejuvenation and nootropics, supplement mixes for focus, memory, and performance improvement (think the limitless pill) are being used more frequently.
Try it out:
Adopt intermittent fasting or time-restricted eating to promote cellular health or try out cold/hot exposure such as cold showers at home (these are two easy and free biohacks)
Incorporate biohacking therapies such as cryotherapy, red light (LED) therapy at POWERCUBE especially if you are in Geneva
Try adding longevity-boosting supplements like resveratrol or NMN under professional guidance.
3. Mental Fitness, Cognitive Well-being, Breathwork
Beyond traditional meditation and therapy, mental fitness is being supported by digital therapeutics and neurofeedback technology. Apps like Calm and Headspace are evolving to include AI-powered coaching, while brain-training platforms like Biofeedback wearables like Apollo Neuro use vibrations to regulate the nervous system, more meditation headsets are coming out now than ever before to help people who have never found meditation appealing to find a way to increase their cognitive resilience. The breathwork app SOMA Breath, designed to support overall health, has seen a surge in user engagement as more people turn to breathwork for self-healing. Another incredible app I’ve personally used, Activations, has helped me—and many others—visualize and step into our future selves through inspiring meditation music and powerful affirmations. Since affirmations have a profound impact on both the body and mind, regularly hearing them helps reprogram the subconscious, fostering deep healing and transformation.
Try it Out:
Practice mindfulness with a guided meditation app each morning or with meditation music from Spotify
Engage in breathing exercises with devices like Apollo Neuro or SOMA to manage stress and heal your body
Try recording yourself over an inspiring instrumental song, while reading how you want to feel and what you want to do as your future self (say 1-5 years from now) then listen back to it a few times a day.
4. The Rise of Functional Nutrition
Food is FINALLY being seen as the simplest and most powerful form of every day medicine by more of the public, with functional nutrition emphasizing gut health and genetic-based diets. Clinics like AYUN in Zurich, Function Health in the US are offering full genetic testing and gut tests to help individuals understand their personal needs around food and how the food they eat actually affects their longevity biomarkers and turns on or off inflammation in the body. From my own experience, about two years ago, I began an extensive series of tests to address my gut health. The functional nutrition recommendations I received had a transformative impact on both my gut and hormone health. I’m happy to share that after two years of following a tailored approach—eliminating certain foods and incorporating others—my stomach inflammation has reached nearly zero. Supporting functional nutrition are companies like Athletic Greens and Seed (US-based) that are producing science-backed probiotics and nutrient-dense supplements, although these are still more popular in North America. In France, an up and coming brand Aime has high quality products focused on skincare and gut health such as collagen and probiotics. While in Switzerland, a few companies like Sanbera, Swiss Natural Med or Be The Change have been pioneers in this field. Let’s not forget personalized meal services like Zoe which are now using metabolic testing to create optimized eating plans that enhance digestion, energy levels, and longevity.
Try it out:
Add probiotic-rich foods like yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut to your diet. I love them in my bowls!
Pay attention to how different foods affect your energy levels and digestion.
Experiment with intermittent fasting or nutrient-dense meal plans for improved vitality.
These four wellness trends are by no means exhaustive, but they offer a glimpse into the evolving landscape of the industry. They reflect a growing shift toward social wellness, personalized, science-backed, and holistic approaches to health—blending traditional methods with modern innovation. However, true wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. The foundation remains simple: prioritize quality sleep, drink enough water, ensure you take key nutrients like Vitamin D and Magnesium, regular movement, a diverse and colorful diet, and mindfulness. While advancements like AI-driven wellness tracking, longevity science, and functional nutrition can elevate well-being, they should complement—not replace—the basics. Sustainable health is built on consistency, not complexity. As we move into 2025, what wellness trend resonates with you most, and how do you plan to integrate it into your daily life?
